Some guest lists call for something a bit more soothing than candy. For baby showers, bridal showers, staff retreats and book clubs, we put together thirty pairs of hand cream and essential oil, with thirty organza bags and thirty thank-you tags to dress them up. Guests leave with a scent for their diffuser and a cream for the drive home.

Each oil bottle holds 10 ml in one of six scents: lavender, vanilla, peppermint, rose, white tea or lily. They are mainly steam distilled and bottled to keep their fragrance, ready for diffusers, bath bombs, candles or soap making. The one-ounce hand creams come in six scents of their own and are made to moisturize. Write a note, fill a bag, and you are done.
