From the drawer

If you have never kept self-adhesive wrap at home, start here. Eight rolls are enough to learn what it does well: holding a pad over a scraped knuckle, snugging around an ankle under a sock, or giving a tattoo machine or bat handle a grippier feel. It grabs onto its own layers and lets go of everything else, so it never pulls hair on the way off.

Two inches is the most forgiving width for small spots. You tear it by hand to any length, no scissors in sight, and change it as often as you like without scrubbing away leftover glue. The fabric breathes and stretches with you. Once you see how often the family reaches for it, the bigger boxes will make sense.
