Small wounds deserve small gauze. A two-inch roll wraps a finger or a thumb without turning it into a mitten, and it fits around a child's wrist without a lot of extra fabric. We packed forty rolls in this box because the little stuff happens most often — paper cuts, kitchen nicks, a scraped toe after running barefoot. Each roll is soft, absorbent and won't stick to the cut.

Each of the forty rolls is wrapped on its own and runs a touch over four yards. Four rolls of medical tape come along to fix the end in place. The cotton has some give, so the gauze settles snugly and comes off cleanly at the next change, without lint. It also helps hold ointment against a minor burn under a light layer.
