A cut miles from the trailhead is when you want more than a plain bandage. These closures stick on either side of a small cut and draw the edges together with a zip-style ratchet, keeping the area closed and covered from dirt. Each one is individually packed, so it stays clean in a hiking pack, a bike bag or the drawer in the workshop.

Using one is simple: press the two pads along each side of the cut, then pull the ties to bring them together. If the position isn't right, lift the buckles to loosen and adjust.
